Canadian Designers: Pyrrha & Goldeen
Pyrrha is one of my favourite jewelry lines designed by Canadian couple Wade and Danielle Papin. The brand is native to Vancouver but has since expanded to open a flagship in Los Angeles. What I love most about their collection is that each handcrafted piece is not only beautiful but also meaningful. Each piece has a specific message and provides the wearer with inspiration and protection. This is everything that I love about jewelry - it’s about so much more than aesthetics. After years of admiring Pyrrha’s amazing Talisman necklaces my wonderful Mom surprised me with a custom piece for Christmas this year. My necklace features the ‘Follow Your Dream’ Talisman hanging on the ‘Unshakeable’ Charm holder necklace. A small shield charm with my initial was added to symbolize protection. Finally, a garnet charm for clarity and a leaf charm for peace were added to complete the necklace. It has quickly become one of my most treasured pieces of jewelry.
I switch my jewelry up regularly depending on what I feel I need to get me through my day. On an especially stressful day - it’s a Buddha charm necklace. On days where I need to remember to stay true to myself, it’s a dainty Tiffany and Co. arrow necklace from my best friend and on days where I need to slay, it’s my Drake ID bracelet by Toronto jewelry designer, Goldeen, featuring one of my favourite Drake lyrics ‘Fuck Being on Some Chill Shit’. Because who needs to do chill shit – when you can do epic shit? These bracelets are amazing and so much fun! They feature hand stamped lyrics by Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Drake and others. I bought one for my Yankee Swap Christmas gift exchange with my girlfriends this year and they battled it out pretty hard for the ‘I woke up like dis’ necklace.
